Little Eagles Preschool is ....

A preschool located on the campus of Centennial High School, that is almost completely student run, as well as an educational class for high school students.

Through our program high school students will learn to interact with young children and become responsible for themselves and others.

 

 

High School Classes:

There are two separate high school classes that run the preschool. The first class being our entry level course,  filled with students who are new to the program. Their focus being: the basics of early childhood education, careers that involve children, types of childcare, ages and stages of child development, different parenting techniques, the nutrition of children, how to observe a child using various observation techniques, different types of discipline, and common childhood illnesses. The second, advanced class, is filled with students who are considered veteran teachers. They have a more hands-on approach with the children and are expected to work more closely with a single child while also maintaining relationships with all preschoolers enrolled in preschool. The second year student's coursework includes philosophies of education as wells as major theorists who have influenced early childhood education.  Additionally, second year students meet with families twice a year for conferenes, and complete an educational portfolio for themselves and a memory book for their child.
